Description

Get ready to sing your heart out in Vocals for the Stage, the perfect class for aspiring stars ages 8–12! In this fun and exciting vocal technique class, young performers will learn how to warm up their voices, breathe like a pro, and hit those high notes with confidence. We’ll focus on pitch, tone, diction, and performance skills, all while singing songs from popular musicals and kid-friendly favorites. With games, group singing, and solo opportunities, students will build strong vocal foundations and learn how to connect with an audience like true performers. The session ends with a show-stopping parent showcase where every voice gets a chance to shine center stage!

Kinsey Waits

Kinsey is a 15-year-old 10th grader at North Vermilion High School. She has performed in 13 CYT shows including all previous CYT Vermilion shows and three Abbey Players shows. Her favorite roles so far were that of Ariel in Footloose, Mary Poppins in CYT Vermilion’s Mary Poppins, Jr., Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Jr. and Jane in Tarzan. She has taken eight years of dancing and is in her 5th year of choir. She is in the Talented and Gifted Theater and Music programs, BETA and 4-H Clubs at school. She enjoys reading and riding horses. She loves singing, acting, dancing and all things CYT!
