CYT Lafayette's 5th Annual Teen Summer Stock Show
Get ready for an unforgettable summer experience with CYT Lafayette as we produce our
5th Annual Summer Stock Show, Into the Woods! We're thrilled to bring you this fully staged production at Angelle Hall Auditorium!
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
Important Dates:
- Rehearsals: Monday through Friday, 5-9 PM from June 15th - 19th, and 3-9pm from June 22-26
- Performances: June 27th & 28th, where you’ll showcase your talent to family and friends!
This is a
two-week rehearsal process leading up to the performances, and it's the perfect opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of theatre! From learning lines and choreography to creating a stunning performance with costumes, sets, and props provided by CYT, this will be a true production experience. This show will also be double casted.
Please Note: This is a
show/rehearsal process experience, not a day camp.
Audition videos are due MAY 30TH, and students will be required to learn lines, music and some choreography before they arrive on the first day. Students who register after audition videos are due will be cast in the ensemble.
