Get ready to think on your feet, trust your instincts, and create compelling performances in the moment! In this intermediate improv class, teens will build on their existing improv skills through spontaneous scenes, storytelling, character development, and collaborative performance.

Through a variety of improv exercises and scene work, students will strengthen essential performance skills including active listening, commitment to character, physical and vocal choices, and confident storytelling. Students will learn to embrace the unexpected, make strong choices, and support their scene partners while creating engaging moments without a script.

Students will explore:

• Scene creation and storytelling
• Developing memorable characters through voice, movement, and physicality
• Active listening and responding authentically in the moment
• Making confident choices and committing to performance
• Building stories with clear characters, relationships, and objectives
• Working collaboratively to create cohesive ensemble performances
• Developing confidence, adaptability, and stage presence

The session will culminate in a showcase for parents and friends, giving students the opportunity to put their performance skills to work and share the stories, characters, and scenes they create together.

Prerequisite: Must have taken a previous Musical Theater Class
