Description

Costume Crafting and Sewing is where fashion meets imagination and the stage comes to life! In this hands-on class, students dive into the world of theatrical design, learning essential sewing techniques, costume construction, and fashion illustration while working on real projects from current shows. From sketching ideas inspired by character analysis to researching historical styles and bringing bold designs to life with fabric and thread, students will explore every step of the costume design process. Guided by script and director vision, they’ll turn creativity into reality as they craft original pieces fit for the spotlight. Whether you're dreaming of Broadway or just love to create, this class is your chance to shine behind the scenes and have an unforgettable, fashion-filled adventure!

Teacher:

Madlyn Zaunbrecher

I am a former classroom teacher who has been homeschooling for seventeen years. I love sewing and have vast experience with theater costumes. I have been teaching sewing my entire adult life, and that is one thing that I missed dearly when I left the classroom - I truly enjoy helping children develop a love for sewing! Watching them create something that they can see on stage for a production is truly rewarding (for them and for me)!
