This advanced acting class challenges experienced performers to take their craft to the next level through focused monologue technique, advanced scene study, and in-depth character work. Students will move beyond the basics of acting to explore the choices, preparation, and techniques that create compelling, authentic performances.

With an emphasis on character development, emotional authenticity, text analysis, objectives, relationships, and stage presence, students will learn how to break down a script, make strong character choices, connect authentically with scene partners, and use voice, movement, and physicality to tell a story.
Designed for experienced performers, this class will help students:

• Strengthen monologue selection, preparation, and performance technique
• Develop deeper character analysis and emotional authenticity
• Explore objectives, tactics, relationships, and subtext within a scene
• Refine vocal, physical, and emotional choices for the stage
• Build confidence, focus, and connection with scene partners
• Develop a more nuanced and compelling acting style

Through challenging material and detailed feedback, students will gain the tools and confidence to approach auditions, monologues, and advanced scene work with greater preparation, intention, and artistry.

Prerequisite: Students must have taken at least one musical theater class to be eligible for this class.
