Sonya Allgood

Sonya is a Lafayette native and the mother of 7 children. In her “younger days”, she enjoyed the visual arts through Dance and Theatre. During college, her studies only allowed for minimal stage time; however, she spent many hours working in the costume shop and learned most of her sewing skills on the job. Currently, in addition to working full-time, Sonya loves to volunteer her time in various areas. One of her volunteer avenues also keeps her involved with her 5 kids that are active in CYT. She has recently become very involved in costumes for various CYT productions and would love to share her ability to produce and mend costumes on the fly. Join Sonya and learn how to be an integral part of CYT productions in the Costume Shop. No prior experience needed as we will be covering the basics. It may help some dust off an old sewing machine, sew a button, hem a pair of pants, embellish a costume or even help with minor alterations in other activities.
