The fundamentals of jazz dance are found in many other styles including musical theater dance, making this class necessary for any aspiring dancer or actor. Jazz dance often utilizes modern music and features syncopated movements, energetic choreography, and complex patterns. In addition, most musicals feature a dance ensemble that is tasked with telling part of the story through dance. This class teaches students choreography and dance elements that can be found in popular musical numbers and will prepare students who are interested in being cast as a dancer in a show. You’ll learn the fundamentals, while building your confidence, stage presence, and style.
